Dresses Hats Handbags Most of our vintage wear came to us from Jim's family. We've had these items stored in our home for approximately 20 years, and prior to that they were stored at Jim's parents' home for months(?), years(?), decades(?). The dresses have been dry cleaned or laundered and are ready to wear unless otherwise noted in the descriptions. Some of the hats need shaping or parts ironed -- that information is not included in the descriptions. Some hats need repairs or are soiled, and, unfortunately, the moths got to a few -- that information is included in the descriptions when applicable. The purses are ready to use unless otherwise noted in the descriptions. We've dated these the dresses and hats using various sources and believe we've assigned the correct decades.   01d Price: $45 Charming 1960s - 1980s, full-length, sleeveless dress made of red "Swiss dot" material with a large, lace-edged double-ruffle collar that drapes the shoulders. Trimmed with red ribbon waist sash that rises in front to a ribbon rose adornment at bustline. V-neckline and full skirt that drapes beautifully. Fully lined with white light-weight cloth. Long back zipper. No manufacturer's label. Dry clean label. Size 10 label. Union label. Very good condition.    02d Price: $45 Sophistocated 1960s - 1980s full-length gown by Miss Elliette of California. Unusual draping, mid-length sleeves and straight skirt with single side slit to knee. Made of pale blue material with sleeve interiors lined in navy blue. Jewel neckline with fabic "flowers" of same pale blue and navy materials. Long back zipper. Dry clean label. Approx. size 10. Very good condition.   03d Price: $45 Richly detailed 1960s - 1980s custom-made, mid-length dress with fitted bodice, modified waistline, and A-line skirt. Gold brocade material with gold-beaded collar and front button area also adorned with rhinestones. Long, full sleeves of sheer material and fitted, buttoned cuffs. Long back zipper. Approx. size 10. Very good condition.    04d Price: $35 1960s - 1980s Leslie Fay full-length knit dress. Knit material boldly printed with red and purple poppies and greenery on a pale gray background. Very good condition.  05d Price: $25 1960s - 1980s custom-made, full-length, shift-style dress made of semi-sheer synthetic material. Gold and yellow floral pattern on aqua and lilac background. Long, full sleeves and fitted cuffs with snap closures. Simple V-neckline and long scarf of the same material that can be used as neck drape or waist sash. Flared A-line skirt. Long back zipper. Washable. Approx. size 10. Very good condition.   06d Price: $25 Tailored 1960s - 1980s full-length gown with black bodice and black and white A-line skirt that falls into soft folds. Long, full sleeves of sheer material and fitted cuffs with snap closures. Draping scarf in material matching skirt. Long back zipper. No manufacturer's label. Dry clean label. Approx. size 10. Good condition. White collar yellowed in areas. Could be replaced, or altered to leave a mandarin-type collar of same material as skirt, or further altered to leave the bodice with a jewel neckline. 1950s/1960s elegant black velour pill-box type hat with a gold and rhinestone leaf pin adorning the front. A black ribbon band encircles the crown with a bow at the back. Approximately 22" circumference. Very good condition. Label states "genuine velour." Lovely evening wear.    05h Price: $35 Beautiful 1940s sepia-colored, wide-brim straw hat decorated with a sepia ribbon hat band that ends in a bow at the back. The front is trimmed with a floral, curled fabric bouquet. The underside of the hat has a back panel of the same straw material that fits the hat snugly to the head. Approximately 20" circumference. Faint staining on the interior band lining. Very good condition. No label. Ready for the Kentucky Derby!     06h Price: $35 Sophisticated 1950s/1960s woman's black wool fedora hat. The wide black ribbon hat band sports a bow and colorful feathers at one side. Approximately 21" circumference. Very good condition. Thin elastic band (now unattached at one end) for securing the hat to the wearer's head. Approximately 18" circumference. Tiny area of straw wear on crown; otherwise, in very good condition. No label.    08h Price: $35 1940s black velvet beret with layered satin-like ribbon detail on one side and a silver metal pin adorning the off-center front. Lovely evening attire.     09h Price: $25 1940s/1950s jaunty, natural straw-colored hat with wide brim and wide, black ribbon hat band that has a modified bow on the side. Front brim measures 4.5" wide from hat band to brim edge, and back brim measures 3" wide. Size 22. Good condition. Tiny area of wear to straw at back of crown; ribbon shows moderate wear in several places; interior band is stained and shows wear. "Genuine Panama, made in South America, guaranteed" stamp on interior band and a "consumers' protection label" tag. Great sun hat.     10h Price: $35 1940s navy blue wool hat with ivory trim around the upturned brim and a thin elastic band for securing the hat to the wearer's head. Ivory trim has taken on slight grayish tinge. Interior hat band tag states "adjustable head size." Interior circumference measures approximately 20." Very good condition. "Ultra, 100% wool, New York" decernible from an interior stamp.     11h Price: $35 Charming 1940s/1950s golden straw-colored hat with gold satin ribbon hat band and rolled brim. The brim is wide at the front and tapers on the sides; the back is brimless. A navy net covers the top of the hat and ties in the back. Very good condition with one small straw wear area at the juncture of the brim and crown at the front side opposite the pin. Approximately 21" circumference. Label states "Adjustable head size." Label reads "Bearn, Marque Deposee, Beret Basque de Luxe, Souvenir de Versailles."    22h Price: $35 1940s ivory linen, wide-brim, cartwheel hat with ivory velvet hat band and ivory velvet-covered wire bow in front. The center of the bow is decorated with rhinestones. The brim of the hat is lined with an ivory velvet band. The underside of the hat has a scalloped back panel that fits snugly to the back of the head. Approximately 21" interior circumference. Approximately 16" edge-to-edge diameter. The hat is in very good condition; the veil shows some wear but still has enough integrity for use. Union label.    25h Price: $25 1940s/1950s red velvet, beautifully sculpted hat that fits snugly to the head. Maximum length side-to-side is approximately 13". The velvet shows several wear areas; otherwise, the hat is in good condition. No label.    26h Price: $35 1940s/1950s black, low-crown hat that is constructed with taffeta-like fabric over a stiff frame. The front is adorned with faux pearls. Fits snugly to the head. Circumference is approximately 21". Very good condition. No label.    27h Price: $35 Elaborately designed 1940s/1950s hat with opalescent, oval-shaped decorative elements and faux pearls across the front. Opalescent sequins cover the hat top, and a golden trim covered with brown "sprinkles" encircles the hat edge. The sides of the hat have V-shaped clips for securing it to the head. Circumference approximately 20". One of the faux pearls is unattached, and one is missing. Small areas of brown sprinkles are missing. Otherwise, in very good condition. Union label. 29h Price: $35 1930/1940 brown wool cartwheel hat with a 3" brim trimmed with a brown net and and a brown ribbon band with a large wire-supported bow in the front. Has a wide partially elastic band for securing it at the back of the head. Interior circumference approximately 16". The net is in fair condition and the interior has a small wear area at the front top-brim junction; otherwise, the hat is in very good condition. "Made in U.S.A.,Neumann-Endler, Inc., 94% wool, 6% casein fiber" stamped in interior.    30h Price: $35 1940s/1950 ivory low-crown hat with ivory velvet hat band and V-shaped side clips to anchor the hat to the wearer's head. Circumference is approximately 19". The underside of the brim shows faint soiling. The hat is in very good condition; the veil shows some wear but still has enough integrity for use. No label.     34h Price: $35 1940s black wool hat with upturned brim with moderately scalloped shape front to back. Brim has cut-out designs in front and along sides and is trimmed with black net in hat band area and black ribbon bow at the back. Size 22 tag. Hat in very good condition; net is fair condition, but looks attractive behind the upturned brim. Interior stamp reads "Belvedere, Reg., made in U.S.A. 100% wool, Henry Pollak, Inc., Distributors, Fifth Avenue, N.Y." Union label.     35h Price: $35 1950s/1960s brown wool bucket hat with narrow brown velvet hat band and a large, brown satin bow at the front. The hat veil is designed to pull back over the top of the hat, tie at the back, and extend to shoulder length. Interior circumference approximately 21". Measures approximately 11 1/2"L x 4"W x 8 1/2"H with 7" strap drop.    04hb Price: $25 Soft tapestry handbag embroidered with floral design and trimmed with muted brown leather. Exterior design same on each side. The material background color is off white with medium blue, burgundy, olive green, and gold stitching, and the hardware is gold. Brown interior with no compartments or pockets and top zippered closing. Four button feet on the flat bottom. Never used; original tags still attached. Made by Marilyn Belts & Bag Co. 1960s-1970s. Approximately 11 1/4"L, 6" W, and 8 1/2"H. Strap drop approximately 6".      05hb Price: $25 Risque handbag with a striking large overflap decorated with patches of rust, red, burgundy, and dark brown. The remainder of the exterior of the bag is dark brown. The interior has a brown cloth lining, a large side pocket, and a zippered pocket on the outside of the side pocket. Sides and bottom fold accordion style allowing plenty of storage room. Very good condition. Circa 1970s. The handbag measures approximately 9"L x 5"W (fully expanded bottom) x 8 1/2"H. Strap drop is approximately 6".       06hb Price: $50 Crocheted ecru cotton draw-string purse or "reticule" dating likely to the early 1900s. The geometric crochet pattern is the same front and back and is accentuated with a scalloped top and three horizonal "stripes." The drawstring is off-white and the partially hand-stitched satin lining is a delicate light green. Very sturdy and in very good condition inside and out with no holes or worn areas. Measures approximately 7"W x 9 1/4"H. Perfect as an evening bag or collectible. 07hb Price: $35 Lovely navy cloth handbag by Garay with gold hardware and snap closure. Satin lined interior has two side pockets, one zippered pocket, and a small change purse attached to the interior by a gold chain. Single pleat along sides and bottom. In very good condition inside and out. 1960s-1970s. Measures approximately 9 3/4"L x 3"W x 8 3/4"H with a 7 1/2" strap drop.    08hb Price: $20 Beautiful 1940s black crocheted handbag. Carved black handles with cut-out flowers and leaves. Exterior design the same on both sides. Interior lined with black cloth, attached by hand stitching at the handle. Very good condition with no noticeable wear and no holes. Missing handle, which could easily be replaced. No identifying marks. Measures approximately 7''L x 1/2''W x 8"H.    09hb Price: $40 Elegant cognac reptile skin purse with gold hardware and snap closure. Interior lining salmon-colored leather with a side pocket and a zippered pocket. Design same front and back. Flat bottom. Exterior in very good condition; interior has minor scuffing to the leather and one side of the zippered pocket liner is detached. No identifying marks. 1960s-1970s. Measurements approximately 8"L, 2 1/2"W x 7"H with a 5 1/2" strap drop. Well tailored for professional look.   10hb Price: $25 Small navy cloth purse with gold hardware and overflap closing. Designed by Frilo. Interior lined with navy satin. Has two side pockets, one lined with red satin and edged with gold trimming. Very good condition. 1960s-1970s.
